From 1990 to
2000, Mr. Cooke has travelled to Hong Kong five times on business.
Prior to that, Mr. Cooke lived and continued his Chinese language
studies in Beijing, China from August, 1987 until June, 1988.
He majored in
Political Science, International Studies at Northwestern University
and concentrated on Business and International Law at Washington
University's School of Law.
In 1986, Mr.
Cooke examined the state of American politics and the South African
political situation and came to conclusions about the United States'
role in helping to change South Africa. His position of "Selective
Investment" was distributed to the members of Congress from
Missouri. While it is now simply a matter of historical interest,
the report is at "State
Law, Divestiture and South 'The House of Seven Gables' Africa".

In 1986, Mr. Cooke was also the Managing Editor for the International Law Society Newsletter. The Spring, 1986 edition included a speech by Professor Seyyed Hossein Nasr about "Islamic Thought in the Contemporary World". (3.1 MB Download)
As a member
of the Illinois State Bar Association, Mr. Cooke sat on the International
and Immigration Law Section Council committee, was the Council Chair
from 1996 to 1997 and Co-Editor of the Council newsletter, "The
Globe" from 1993 through 1997.
Currently, Mr.
Cooke works with American businesses doing business in Asia and
Asian businesses doing business in the United States.
